The Application Form

You can use this basic form for Guardians as well, if you wish, but they don’t need very much detail. Please include your own information as well: e-mail address, handle or name, AIM and/or MSN SN (I don’t use other IM services), and if you wish you can include previous RPG experience. Remember, research = good. Though I stress the importance of not giving me novels, if it’s all relevant and not wordy just for the sake of being wordy, I can deal with a longer application. Send the application to me, Adelaide, when you're done. Please make the subject line "SoP Application: [character position] - [character name]. Thank you!

Name: [You know. What her/his parents called her/him.]
Meaning: [Not required, but if you want to, feel free.]
Age: [preferably between 12-21. Pages are preferably 12-17]
Birthday: [month and day character was born on; should coincide with Zodiac sign]
Zodiac: [it helps you if you need some personality inspiration]
Height: [how tall is she/he?]
Likes: [what does she/he like? Leave things like skiing, reading, etc. to Hobbies. Likes should be things like books, mountains, snow, etc.]
Dislikes: [Obviously, opposite to Likes]
Hobbies: [What does she/he enjoy doing in her/his spare time?]

Appearance: [A brief description is fine. Hair color and style, eye colour and shape, overall build, usual wardrobe.]

Personality: [At least some of this should coincide with the Zodiac, but really, it’s not necessary. How do they act around others, how do they think? Etc. Don’t make this a novel, just tell me what I need to know. This doesn’t mean slack off, either, though. The personality is very important, so don’t be afraid of babbling. Basically, don’t just fill up the app with fancy words and things to make it look longer.]

History - Present: [How did she/he grow up? Same as with personality, tell me what’s relevant. I don’t need to know that she scraped her knee when she was five, so she’s really careful on gravel now. I want to know how her parents treated her, if her childhood was exciting, happy, sad, boring, whatever. Again, don’t give me novels, because I won’t read it if I don’t have the time or patience for it.]

History – Past: [What kind of life did she have back on Major Arcana? If you’re applying for a Knight, what was his life like on his own planet? Did she or he get out much? If it is possible, talk to other current players about your character’s relationship to theirs in the past. If there is no one in this game, then don’t worry about it.]

Soldier Information

Soldier/Knight/etc Name: [You can be a bit creative with this one. Example: If you don’t want to say Wheel of Fortune, you can just go down to Wheel. Or something better. Just make sure you stick with the main idea.]

Sphere of Power: [See available character chart for this information.]

Uniform Colours: [You get a main and secondary colour.]

Uniform: [Describe the uniform here. Obviously, you want to make it relevant to the card. Go nuts! Really. You can even have wings, IF you can justify them. Like, say, if your card happens to have several versions in which she or he has wings..]

Team/Alignment: [If you’re applying for an Arcana Soldier, and you were paying attention, you put which team your character is on. If you are a Knight, you can align, or not align, with anyone. Pages are on the Knight of Pentacles’ side.]

Transformation: [Arcananum mutatio, (soldier name). Or if you’re a Knight, you can make something else up, though you can use that phrase. If you plan on ever writing a sequence, here or in the story, remember that they use their card to transform.]

Powers: [If you can come up with two attacks, one offensive and one defensive, that’d be great. You don’t have to make up two, and they don’t have to be one offense and one defense. If you decide to do two attacks, try to make one of each element (eg: Knight of Cups has water and white magic).]

Writing Test: [Pick a word from this list: disenchant, eliminate, conceal, discover, furious, thrilled. Use any form of the word you need. Now make a sentence out of it. That is all. Oh, and if you’re applying to the other game that uses this format (that is mine, that is), then you can’t just reuse the sentence from before. Ha!]
